Growing up in Taranaki I always had an interest in agriculture and horses so after leaving school, I attended Massey University where I graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science.
My first roles, after graduation, involved working with breeding and racing Thoroughbred horses, firstly in Cambridge and then in the United Kingdom.
In 2008 I returned to Taranaki to work with the Taranaki Regional Council as their Investigating Officer, leading the dairy monitoring programme. My role with the Council brought me into contact with the Hi-tech Enviro Solutions team and I became aware of the depth of knowledge and expertise within the business and their ability to design compliant systems which are effective and easy to manage.
When a position for a Dairy Effluent Consultant arose with Hi-Tech in early 2017, I jumped at the chance to work with farmers in the Taranaki, Manawatu and Wairarapa regions.
My knowledge of the regulatory side of effluent management, combined with my ability to design efficient and effective effluent irrigation systems, means I am able to advise and guide farmers from the first enquiry through to the completed system.
